The CR-V has been a showstopper since Honda introduced it over 20 years ago. With a model redesign for 2020, the Honda favorite is back with even more impressive features and design elements. The 2020 Honda CR-V comes in four trim levels: LX, EX, EX-L, and Touring. All trim levels feature the same engine, with standard front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive. Automatic headlights are standard on all trim levels, as is a remote entry system. A moon roof is standard starting with the EX trim, along with a smart entry system with a walk-away auto-lock. The base LX model comes with standard 17-inch alloy wheels while the two mid-range trims offer 18-inch alloy wheels and the top-level Touring has 19-inch alloy wheels.
All trim levels of the 2020 Honda CR-V come with an impressive turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired to a Continuously Variable Automatic Transmission, or CVT. Front-wheel drive comes standard, with the option to upgrade to all-wheel drive. This engine is rated for an impressive 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. All this power makes the CR-V a capable towing machine. With either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, the 2020 Honda CR-V is rated to pull 1,500 pounds.
The 2020 Honda CR-V is a pleasure to drive. The CVT pairs well with the 1.5-liter turbo, offering power and acceleration when you need it. The braking is excellent, bringing the vehicle to a stop smoothly and quickly. Uneven terrain is no match for the CR-V’s superior suspension with plenty of support to cut down on cabin vibration. The steering is substantial, offering a great connection to the road and impressive responsiveness around sharp corners.
The interior of the 2020 Honda CR-V is spacious and refined, with a plethora of comforts and convenience features designed to make your commute pleasant. The CR-V seats five in two rows of seats. The seats themselves are comfortable and supportive with high-quality cloth or leather materials, depending on the trim level. Head and legroom are substantial, as is storage space. Even without the back row of seats folded down, the CR-V is top of the class for cargo space. The base trim of the CR-V comes standard with a 5-inch color LCD screen with Bluetooth connectivity. Starting with the EX trim, features upgrade with elements like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connections including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Honda knows the CR-V is a family car, and as such, they’ve outfitted it with an impressive range of safety features at all trim levels. Starting with the base LX, features include LED daytime running lights, a rearview camera, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, and auto high-beam headlights. Blind-spot monitoring is available on the EX, EX-L, and Touring trim levels.
